Worship Music
Dundonald Parish Church has a Praise-band, organ and choir – if you enjoy singing and music you are welcome to join this uplifting ministry.
On Easter Saturday we bring you Bob Stewart singing and playing a beautiful song called ‘Love Is..’.
Prayer:
Almighty, all-merciful God,
through Christ Jesus you have taught us to love one another,
to love our neighbors as ourselves,
and even to love our enemies.
In times of disagreement and challenge,
let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts,
so that we may not be overcome with evil
but overcome evil with good.
Help us to see each person in light of the love and grace
you have shown us in Christ.
This Easter time awaken us to the dawning of your new life.
Establish among us a future where your Spirit reigns,
where people come radically into an awesome encounter of your presence.
May your Kingdom come o’Lord.
We ask these things in the name
and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
On Easter Friday we bring you Gordon Highet who writes and produces his own worship music. This song is called: ‘The Promise’.
Today is also Gordon Highet and Netta Highet’s Golden Wedding Anniversary so please feel free to pass on your blessings to this special couple.
Prayer:
On this day Father, we want to come to you with a humble and thankful heart. To thank you for what you did for us. That you sent your son to die on the cross, so that we could live again.
Thank you that you are a faithful God, and always keep your promises. You promised to give us life in all its fullness, and eternal life in heaven with you.
May we always remember the sacrifice you made for each and everyone of us, on this day, and every day forever.
In Jesus name, amen.
On Easter Thursday we bring you our fabulous praise band singing and playing: “Glorious Day (Living he loved me)”.
Father
Each day is glorious when You are in our lives.
Through the life, death and resurrection of Your son Jesus, your merciful, gracious and protective love is ours.
How do we begin to thank you for this most precious gift?
We can give you our hearts. Each day may we align our hearts, our talent and our will with your will and your plans for us. Use us. May we be Your light, Your hands, Your feet, Your heart and Your love here on earth until you return again.
In Jesus name we pray this,
Amen.
On Easter Wednesday we bring you William Stewart singing: “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross”.
Prayer: Jesus open my eyes to see you alive, present and powerful today.
Spirit infuse all I say and do with the hope of resurrection life.
Amen
Amen
Lectio 365.
On Easter Tuesday we bring you Stephen Brennan singing: “The Power of the Cross” accompanied by Colleen Anderson on the piano.
Most Merciful God,
Your Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, endured for love of us the horrors of crucifixion. He made a gift of himself to you; a sacrifice of obedient love.
You raised him to life, and the empty tomb hold for us the promise of eternal life.
May we always hold that cross in worshipful respect, an everlasting sign of Christ’s love and obedience.
Amen.
Amen.
On Easter Monday we bring you Kevin and Michele Wright singing “Jesus Christ (Once Again)”.
Heavenly Father
This song sums up so much of what I am feeling right now as we continue our Easter celebrations. We have remembered the terrible events of Good Friday, but then experienced the joy of resurrection on Easter Sunday. The big question though is Why? Why would you do this for me? How could you love me so much you would allow your own son to be crucified so that I could have a relationship with you. There was no other way. However good we might strive to be, we could never be completely blameless. Only Jesus could achieve that, and so become the only possible sacrifice to redeem us, imperfect as we are. And so, yes, I marvel at this saving grace and Thankyou from the bottom of my heart.
Amen
