Prayer Booklet 65
Sunday, 11th July, 2021
May we all be blessed with the ability to worship God even if we are not yet attending church in person. Hopefully we can listen on Facebook, You tube, web-sites, TV or radio.
However, I offer you one of my favourite verses from His word, a favourite hymn and the Lord’s Prayer to help you meditate on his majesty and his grace. Be blessed today…
“God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you’.” Hebrews 13:5

The Lord’s Prayer

For thine is the kingdom, The power and the glory,

Monday 12th July 2021
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Don’t you love how the Bible always makes provision in the promises – they are to his people in every age and in every place – and that includes us in our time where we are placed to serve.
Reflect and Pray– where you have specific knowledge, pray specifically, but pray anyway, committing these churches to God that his sovereign grace and his will be known…

Office bearers and conveners of committees and organisations– that God will enable them to fulfil their tasks effectively;
The congregation members who are able to attend Church; May God bless them with a sense of his presence always with them;
The congregation members unable to attend Church – may we reach out to them as precious members of the Church family;
those who no longer attend church because they have forgotten God or lost their faith – may the Lord restore them by His Holy Spirit at work in their lives;
The communities served by our churches – may they learn of the gospel and grace of God as we love and serve in Jesus’ name.
Tuesday 13th July, 2021
“…and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:19-21
Reflect and Pray
In the light of these beautiful and wonderful words from Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus let us pause for a moment and remember to whom we pray. God is not limited to our thinking and our abilities, but he has made it clear that he depends on his people humbling themselves and calling out to Him. He will not force himself upon us. When we receive his love, we also receive the Holy Spirit who enables us to love and serve him in return, and to engage in prayer. Let us pray:
- Thank God for his love shown in the gift of Jesus, who is our Saviour and our friend in every circumstance
- Call upon God to intervene in the devastation caused by Covid-19…that he would send understanding on those who flout the guidance for protection for everyone – that human behaviour will not continue to be responsible for increasing the spread. May God calm the spirit of unrest and disobedience.
- Continue to ask for Guidance and Wisdom to all leaders – in science, medicine and politics – that a cure will be found and our nation will be led safely through this disaster. Pray that wealthy countries will share vaccinations with poor countries
- Ask God to grant each of us hearts of compassion to see and respond to the needs of others, as he has blessed us.
Wednesday 14th July, 2021
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27
Some questions are not really questions at all – they are just designed to cause us to reflect on a truth that is fundamental to all that we are. We can trust God implicitly – because He is God.

Thursday 15th July, 2021
Let us take time to refresh our souls again as we offer this reflection and prayer of praise and hope from Paula Lennox, a member of both the Mission Committee and the Prayer Promoters’ Group:
As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more (Psalm 71:14)
In this time of anxiety and uncertainty, let us remember there is always someone we can rely on. May we start each day thanking him for all he has done for us and holding this gratitude before us as a beacon of hope.
Prayer
Father, we thank you for your promise to always be with us no matter our circumstances and we hold on to that promise now, as we feel anxious and uncertain as each day goes by. May we remember that through you all things were created, that you have supremacy over everything and nothing is impossible for you. You are our hope and we praise you. Amen
Prayer points are all about praising God:
Praise Him for the little things, we previously took for granted
Praise Him for nature that continues to flourish
Praise Him for more time to spend in His Word
Praise Him that whatever happens he is our hope
Now just talk to God about whatever is on your heart…he wants to bless you and give you peace as you trust in him. Amen

“Hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love.” Psalm 130:7
It should not break us that at times life is complex for us as individuals and for our Churches. As people of faith our hope for now and the future is in the Lord God Almighty. Rest in Him.
